On this day a dork was born

And the world was doomed. It caused 1,000 years of darkness to form. Well, it's really 962 but 1,000 sounds more ominous.

I kid. Maybe.

Anyway, today is my birthday. We'll be doing our usual tradition of going to Red Robin for a free birthday burger and free hot fudge sundae. After all, free food is free food, right? But with the added bonus of going to check out a baby green-cheeked conure that'll (eventually) become my pet (it's just not ready to go home yet but by next week it will). And... the weather is what I expected it would be: rain. What a surprise. Anyway, time for a day of food, fun, and family. And hopefully soon a new little companion will be with me.

Farewell to a friend

I regret to inform that, this sad day, my pet cockatiel, Zeru, passed away. He died of a cancerous tumor at the vet last night after we brought him down to be checked out. He was 15 years old. I am, naturally, crushed by the news, but when I saw how badly he was doing yesterday I knew to expect the worst. So I'm doing my best to honor his memory. We are going to get him cremated as a final farewell to him. I'm going to miss the little goofball, no doubt about it, as he was pretty much my constant companion since I got him and since I moved into my own place. But at least he's now at peace and he didn't die in pain. Farwell, Zeru, my little bird buddy. May your soul join the stars as one of them.

Sorry for the lack of updates

As the title states, sorry for the lack of updates. I took the holidays off from writing to focus on other things and now I ended up with a hand and wrist injury for the past few days. It's better now but it still hurts and it makes it hard to type for long. So I still need to nurse that for a while until I can get back into the swing of things. Until then.

Should I do a monster list from the Demon Realm?

It's been a bit. Anyway, seeing how I did a full monster list for Chaos Rising, I was wondering if I should also do a list for the denizens of the Demon Realm, as they play a part in things. Especially since the Demon Realm will be playing a bigger part soon in the series, as evident by some upcoming chapters that I finally got to work on (weather got to me again... I hate summer...). Mom's Surgery

Well, today is the day of mom's second surgery. This one is for the defibrillator instillation and she had to be at the hospital at 6 AM. It was originally an afternoon appointment, but someone preceding her canceled, so she got pushed up. That's fine, as it means she can get it done sooner and go home quicker, though it was a 2 hour ride from their home to the hospital, so they had to get up at 4 AM. We don't know if she'll be staying overnight or not but either way she and dad are at the hospital right now. Hopefully everything goes accordingly, as this is a vital surgery for her. Let's hope for the best.

Hi all. Yeah, today is March 15th, also known as my birthday. Another year has come and gone for this dork. However, this birthday will be different. Originally, we were going to do our traditional events, which is go to Red Robin for a free birthday burger and hot fudge sundae, but a wrench got thrown into the works. Since mom is going in for her surgery on the 20th to have the defibrillator installed, the hospital called yesterday and told her that she needs to self-quarantine herself until then in order to avoid the coronavirus. So, my birthday is pretty much stalled. We're still going to do the Red Robin bit, but only after the surgery,

Sorry for the lack of updates

Hi, everyone. Sorry for the lack of any real updates lately, my family and I have been going through a lot lately. Let's start from the top. Remember when I mentioned that Peggy Ann passed away in December? Well, her sister, Pat, died roughly two weeks later. That's right, we had two deaths in the family within the span of 30 days. They're holding the mass and funeral in March, but we won't be able to go. Two reasons: 1) It's on Long Island in Suffolk County, which is way to far for us to go. And 2) We have other "issues" to attend to. Which will be described in the next paragraphs. So, yeah, it's a pretty sad time for the family right now.
